Description

The aim of the project is to better understand how people can engage in conversation with a chatbot about research-related topics. The purpose is not to provide predefined answers or to replace science communication. Rather, the project investigates whether and how a chatbot can serve as an accessible interface: people can share their perspectives, ask questions, provide feedback, or contribute their own experiences. In this way, it becomes possible to identify which questions, expectations, uncertainties, or points of criticism exist in relation to research.

In the preliminary study, an initial prototype of this chatbot can be tested. The prototype is designed as an experimental tool and is intended to test the basic idea in practice. Participants can interact with the chatbot and experience how such a dialogue might take place. The focus is on whether the chatbot is understandable, helpful, and pleasant to use. The study also examines what kinds of questions and feedback arise during the conversation and how the chatbot can capture them.
