Description

Standardized languages for describing professional skills - What are they? Why do we need them? And what does it look like?
In a world in which the world of work is becoming ever faster and more dynamic, professional and educational biographies are individual and changeable. Employees gain a wide range of experience in different professional activities or acquire new skills in further training courses. In order to develop new career prospects, find suitable job offers and receive recommendations for your own career, it is becoming increasingly important to document and make your own professional skills visible. For greater mobility and permeability on the one hand and the possibility of automated evaluation and support on the other, it is helpful that the description of one's own professional skills is carried out in a standardized language. One such language is the European Skills, Competences and Occupations (ESCO) classification developed by the EU Commission.
We would like to introduce you to this language and show you the possible uses of such a classification. You will also have the opportunity to describe your own professional skills and receive a representation of your own description in the standardized ESCO language. Test our prototype and give us feedback on how you feel about using the standardized language.
What can you expect?
- Information on the importance of standardized languages such as ESCO
- A demonstration of our prototype for recording professional and educational experiences
- The opportunity to translate your own professional skills into ESCO language
- A conversation with our researchers and experts in the field
