Guided tour of one of our bioeconomy labs: From waste to plant fertilizer

How can seemingly “worthless” waste materials be transformed into something useful for the bioeconomy, cultivated plants, and our food supply? During the tour of our plant laboratory, we’ll show you various experimental setups and explain how we observe and measure plants under controlled conditions—from raw materials to formulated plant fertilizers. You’ll also gain insight into ongoing tests and learn background information through short presentations.

Description

How can seemingly “worthless” waste materials be transformed into something useful for the bioeconomy, cultivated plants, and our food supply? Join us for a 45-minute tour of our plant laboratory. We’ll take you to various experimental facilities and use practical examples to show you how we observe and measure plants under controlled conditions: from raw materials and intermediate products all the way to formulated plant fertilizers. You’ll gain insight into ongoing tests and learn how we combine analytical methods with knowledge from plant physiology and nutrition to specifically process nutrients from by-products and make them usable in defined quality. Short presentations directly at the experimental sites accompany the tour.
