Institute of Photogrammetry & Remote Sensing: Optical 3D Measurement and 4D Environmental Monitoring

What is the height of the forest? How strong is the soil erosion after heavy rain? In our research we develop sensor technology and evaluation methods to observe changes in the environment and climate as well as to carry out measurements in materials science, industry and medicine.

description

What is the height of the forest? How tall are buildings? How strong is the soil erosion after heavy rain? How does climate change affect forest fires?

These are some of the questions we address as photogrammetrists, remote sensing scientists, and world surveyors. Therefore we use images, laser scanning and radar data captured from ground, aircrafts and satellites to extract reliable and accurate 3D information. In our research we develop sensor technology and evaluation methods to monitor changes in the environment and climate as well as to perform surveys in materials science, industry and medicine.

A colourful portfolio of current measurement technologies and instruments, demonstrators and research presentations awaits you in the "Hörsaalzentrum", Bergstraße entrance.
