Description

The library of the Senckenberg Natural History Collections Dresden provides insights into an important repository of scientific knowledge. It combines the Geological-Mineralogical Library and the Zoological Library and contains extensive collections related to zoology, geology, mineralogy and paleontology.

Visitors can discover historical books, scientific publications, maps, rare prints and specialist literature spanning several centuries of natural history research. The library preserves not only scientific knowledge, but also the history of research and collecting itself.

Staff members provide insights into the work of a scientific specialist library and present selected historical works and rare materials.
