Emergency medicine in pre-hospital care is provided not only by colleagues working full-time for the ambulance service, but also by volunteers, who are deployed in particular for larger emergency situations with a large number of patients that can no longer be covered by the regular ambulance service.

In addition to an ambulance from the regular rescue service, a command vehicle, an ambulance for medical cover and a medical equipment vehicle are presented.

Description

The interface between the clinic and preclinic is omnipresent in the field of emergency medicine. The Centre for Emergency Medicine is responsible for the Central Emergency Department at Dresden University Hospital and is in close contact with preclinical units.

At the Long Night of Science, the Malteser emergency services will show you how their daily work functions and what possibilities there are for applying emergency medicine at the highest level outside the clinical setting.
