Description
Lecture with Dr. Sebastian Fuchs
Construction informatics is a cross-disciplinary discipline between the fields of construction and computer science. This scientific field is constantly evolving, and the demands of industry are becoming increasingly complex. With the first freely programmable calculation machine developed by civil engineer Konrad Zuse, computers firmly established themselves in structural engineering. However, the demands of construction informatics today are far greater: namely, to solve problems across the entire construction industry using IT. For almost 20 years, Building Information Modeling (BIM) has been transformed from theory to practice. However, BIM is only one aspect of digitalization in the construction industry. How do we manage this upheaval in the fragmented, heterogeneous structure of the construction industry? And where do we stand today – nine years after the first lecture?
Lecture with Dirk Stiehler
Especially in the field of engineering services, the way of working has been fundamentally changed by advancing digitalization and the use of modern computer technologies. Building Information Modeling (BIM) plays a key role in this, shaping the daily work of engineers through optimized collaboration, transparent data management, and efficient project management. Despite these advances, challenges remain, such as the integration of different systems, standardization, and dealing with increasing complexity and training needs. The standardization of digital processes is constantly evolving, but has not yet been implemented across the board. Further developments are expected in the future, particularly through the integration of BIM with artificial intelligence, which will permanently transform the construction industry.
Giveaway
We are holding a raffle among all participants for one copy each of the specialist books "Clean Architecture" by Robert C. Martin, "Einstieg in Kali Linux" by Jürgen Ebner, and "Git Schnelleinstieg" by Sujeevan Vijayakumaran. All three books are published by mitp-Verlag, which supports our event as a prize sponsor.
The event is held in german.
