description

The discussion surrounding the labour market integration of refugees is often emotional rather than fact-based. This is not least due to the fact that information about processes and players is rarely presented comprehensively in the media. Against this backdrop, the Mercator Forum Migration and Democracy (MIDEM) and INTERACT4WORK of the Willkommen in Löbtau association invite you to an dialogue as part of the Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften. By way of introduction, MIDEM employee Felix Hormig will scientifically scrutinise common myths and prejudices about the labour market integration of refugees. He will look at both the opportunities and challenges of labour market integration in Germany.
And what does the practice say?
How are jobs placed with refugees? In which sectors are refugees predominantly employed? And how does cooperation with public authorities work? Antje Odermann from INTERACT4WORK will provide an insight into the practice of labour market integration in Dresden and the surrounding area.
We look forward to a joint discussion and exchange with the audience!
