The Trustnet initiative was launched as part of the ID-Ideal showcase project (https://id-ideal.de). The project is funded as part of the "Secure Digital Identities Showcase" innovation competition organised by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK). The aim is to make the use of digital identities in business and administration more secure and simpler. The vision of ID-Ideal is to expand the existing Internet to include the Trustnet. The Trustnet is intended to enable trustworthy interactions on the Internet and protect against fraud.
