Bio-inspired concepts from flora and fauna are opening up new paths in plastic metallization. Plastics and metals have very different properties, which makes it difficult to combine them for material composites and their applications. Until now, toxic, environmentally harmful chemicals or expensive processes had to be used. With repellents from the plant world or the adhesive from mussels, we are now creating an environmentally friendly bridge between the two types of materials.
