✨ Ralph Caspers' greeting to the 21st #LNDWDD
Great interest in social media in the run-up to the event
The contributions to the #LNDWDD were viewed over 246,000 times. No wonder, because the program offered something for everyone: from exciting lectures and hands-on experiments to fascinating insights into laboratories and interactive exhibitions, everything was included.
Experience science and get into conversation with each other
The Science Night not only offered the opportunity to experience the world of science up close, but also to talk to researchers. Current topics in science and their significance for society were discussed in numerous discussion rounds and talk formats.
A complete success thanks to the efforts of many
The state capital of Dresden and the LNdW program office would like to thank everyone involved for their commitment, which made the event an unforgettable experience. Special thanks go to the researchers, who shared their work with the audience.

"3, 2, 1 ... SCIENCE!" (2022)
„3, 2, 1 ... SCIENCE!” was the motto of the 19th Dresden Science Night on July 8, 2022. Scientific institutions opened (virtual) doors throughout the city and invited interested visitors to learn about natural science and Experience technology, research and innovation, art and culture up close.
39 co-organizers presented a varied program on their feet. From 5 p.m. to midnight, lectures, experiments, guided tours and hands-on shows caused many astonished eyes with over 32,000 guests.
With more than 700 events, the Dresden research location once again presented itself as extremely varied and diverse. From young to old and for big and small there was a lot of science to explore - so much that seven hours wasn't enough, according to some guests.

"Now it's dawning!" (2021)
On 09 July 2021, the 18th Dresden Science Night took place digitally for the first time.
Under the motto "Now it's dawn!" there was the opportunity to discover science from home with over 200 programme points. A wide variety of event formats invited visitors to experience research interactively and expand their own knowledge. The colourful programme had something in store for everyone who was interested. In addition to hands-on experiments, lectures, tours and podcasts, there were presentations, films, shows, simulations, workshops, concerts and much more. Digital experience from anywhere!
15 co-organisers put together a diverse programme that was well received by the more than 6,800 visitors and provided a nice insight into Dresden's science and research landscape.
The programme office would like to thank all the researchers who made the Dresden Science Night a very special digital event.
"Science instead of pillow fights" (2019)
"Science instead of pillow fights" was the motto of the 17th Dresden Science Night on 14 June 2019. More than 39,000 guests were able to enjoy what Dirk Hilbert called "the coolest event in town". He also added that "this night shows very well how broad and strong Dresden's research landscape is" and that it's great "that the scientists always organise such a family-friendly programme."

"From 18 to 1, everyone does Science!" (2018)
What was Dresden doing on 15.06.2018 between 18 and 1?
Quite simple:
... Science! More than 2,000 researchers welcomed over 39,000 visitors to scientific research institutions throughout the city of Dresden on 15 June 2018. From Pillnitz to Trachau, from Klotzsche to Südhöhe, scientific institutions opened their doors and invited interested visitors to the 16th Dresden Science Night. Researchers answered questions, gave lectures, guided tours through laboratories, invited to experiments and and and...
The Science Night, popular far beyond the city limits, is an absolute highlight in Dresden's calendar of events. In 700 programme points you can encounter science interactively: join in, try it out yourself, experiment, test, examine and gain insights - the desire for knowledge ensures many astonished eyes.

"Science All Night" (2017)
A night that creates knowledge
The 15th Dresden Science Night received a visit from outer space! At 6 p.m. on 16 June 2017, the ISS cosmonaut Alexander M. Samokutjajew opened the science highlight of the year together with Minister of State Dr Eva-Maria Stange, Mayor of the State Capital Dresden Dirk Hilbert and Rector of the Dresden University of Technology Prof. Hans Müller-Steinhagen.
The Russian cosmonaut has already been to the International Space Station ISS twice. He described his impressions from space to the guests and used them to demonstrate the usefulness of global cooperation for optimal knowledge transfer. Mobility also played a major role at Dresden's smartest evening event. The Transparent Factory Dresden offered three exciting lectures on the vision of tomorrow's mobility. At the new automotive technical centre of the Dresden University of Applied Sciences, interested visitors were able to examine the new test field for autonomous driving and take part in test drives.
Dresden's research is also concerned with how work and production will be done in the future. Industry 4.0, i.e. high-tech production, combines the current state of the art with the progress of digitalisation. At the Saxony University of Cooperative Education, visitors were able to see the Smart Factory laboratory, where complete factories can be simulated in order to use resources optimally and workers efficiently.
