What is the Dresden Science Night?

On the Dresden Science Night, Dresden's universities, non-university research institutions and science-related companies open their buildings, laboratories, lecture halls and archives to the public. Interested parties can experience science and technology, research and innovation, art and culture in a variety of lectures, experiments, guided tours, exhibitions and films.

Who is invited?

Everyone! Students, families, seniors and of course the little researchers of tomorrow are invited, in short: all night owls who want to experience research interactively and expand their own knowledge.

Many events offer a family-friendly program with face painting, reading sessions and experiments especially for the young audience. Events that are also well suited for international guests are marked separately.

When does it start?

The 20th Dresden Science Night will take place on June 30, 2023 from 17:00 to 00:00.

What does it cost?

Participation in all events is free of charge.

How do i get to the event?

DVB AG (public transport) supports the Dresden Science Night. On June 30, 2023 between 16:00 and 01:00 the following day, transportation on DVB trams and buses is free of charge. All you have to do is show the digital ticket. The DVB timetable information also shows how to reach the desired station. Alternatively, our overview map, which we will publish on the website shortly before the event, will also provide orientation. 

Who is behind it?

The Dresden Science Night is a joint project of the network "Dresden - City of Science" with Dresden universities, research institutions and companies and is supported by the state capital Dresden.
