description

Many syntheses of intermetallic materials require high temperatures, for which furnaces of various types are normally used. In contrast, the thermite process - today mainly used for rail welding - runs almost entirely without external energy input due to a redox reaction. Many of the questions and working methods of our institute can be explained by means of rections and products.
