Wrinkles - not only a question of age
In daily life, we see wrinkles everywhere in different shapes and sizes. Two examples are the human fingerprint and shark skin.
In our lab, we want to show you, how we can introduce wrinkles on elastomer surfaces on purpose using plasma. We can image these wrinkles with a scanning probe microscope with a nanometer accuracy. Applications for our wrinkled surfaces are, e.g., antibacterial functions or reduction of friction.
